The Sacred Heart symbolizes both our devotion to Christ and His immense love and mercy for us. The image of the Sacred Heart dates back to 1675 when a French nun, Saint Mary Margaret, saw a vision of the Sacred Heart and Jesus spoke to her about His love for humanity. The Sacred Heart reminds us that “God is love” (1 John 4:8). Jesus invites us to receive His love and share this love with others.
