K-5 FAMILY FORMATION FALL OF 2025

A committee of RE catechists, RE parish staff, and parents are taking proactive steps

to improve religious education and make it more engaging for families! Family Faith

Formation (FFF) is such a powerful approach because it recognizes that faith isn’t just

something kids learn in isolation; it’s something that needs to be nurtured in the home

and the parish community. When families are involved in their children’s faith

formation, it creates a stronger, more lasting impact. Therefore like hundreds of other

parishes in the USA, we will be moving to “Family Faith Formation” for our K-5 RE

starting this Fall of 2025. We will have a parish team to help us with this new way of

teaching and formation.

How it will work:

2 times a month K-5 RE will be from 10:15am-11:15am on Sundays at the church

with the entire family (parents and K-5 kids) being taught by our parish team.

2 times a month RE will be taught in the home by the parents with all K-5 or K-8

kids in the family participating. Parents can choose the time/day that works best for

your family! We will make sure our parents feel equipped and ready to help teach

their children the faith.

Parents are and must be the first teachers of their children!



Cost will be only $50 per family and the parish will help with the rest!

Registration will open at the end of July.

CYM AND SHOCK:

CYM (6th-8th grade) will also move to Sunday Mornings from 10:15am-11:15am

and meet in the new 570 Youth House.

High School SHOCK will stay meeting on Sunday evenings.

WH Y  T H E  T IME / D A Y  C H A N G E ?

After multiple conversations with parents, RE teachers and our committee, we decided

that Wednesday night religious education is not the best time for our kids to learn the

faith. The kids are tired after school and it is hard for them to focus after a long day of

learning. For the sake of our kids learning our faith, we needed a change!

FORMACIÓN FAMILIAR Kinder-5th OTOÑO 2025:

El comité de catequistas de religión, personal parroquial y padres está tomando medidas proactivas para mejorar la educación religiosa y hacerla más atractiva paralas familias. La Formación Familiar en la Fe (FFF) es un enfoque muy eficaz porque reconoce que la fe no es solo algo que los niños aprenden de forma aislada; es algo que debe cultivarse en el hogar y en la comunidad parroquial. Cuando las familias participan en la formación de la fe de sus hijos, se crea un impacto más fuerte y duradero. Por lo tanto, al igual que cientos de otras parroquias implementaremos la Formación Familiar en la Fe; para nuestro programa de Religión de Kinder-5th a partirde este otoño de 2025. Contaremos con un equipo parroquial para ayudarnos con esta nueva forma de enseñanza y formación.

Cómo funcionará:

Dos veces al mes, el programa de Religión de K-5 se impartirá de 10:15 am. a 11:15 am los domingos en la iglesia, para toda la familia (padres y niños de K-5) acargo de nuestro equipo parroquial. Dos veces al mes, los padres se encargarán de practicar la religión en casa, con todos los niños de la familia. ¡Los padres pueden elegir el horario y el día quemejor se adapte a su familia! Nos aseguraremos de que nuestros padres sesientan capacitados y listos para ayudar a enseñar la fe a sus hijos.

¡Los padres son y deben ser los primeros maestros de sus hijos!

El costo será de solo $50 por familia y la parroquia contribuirá con el resto. Las inscripciones se abrirán a finales de Julio. ¡En agosto se darán a conocer más detalles y responderemos a todas suspreguntas! ¿POR QUÉ EL CAMBIO DE HORARIO/DÍA? Después de varias conversaciones con padres, los maestros y nuestro comité,decidimos que la educación religiosa de los miércoles por la noche no es el mejormomento para que nuestros hijos aprendan la fe. Los niños están cansados despuésde la escuela y les cuesta concentrarse tras un largo día de aprendizaje. ¡Para que nuestros hijos aprendan más acerca de la fe, necesitamos un cambio!

CYM Y SHOCK:CYM (6.º a 8.º grado) también se reunirá los domingos por la mañana de 10:15 am a 11:15 am y se reunirá en la nueva Casa de Jóvenes 570. SHOCK (9.º a 12º grado) seguirá reuniéndose los domingos por la tarde.
